College of Nursing & Health Sciences

The mission of the College of Nursing is to provide an academically challenging professional nursing education based on a liberal arts foundation to students from diverse backgrounds within an environment of Christian values and with a commitment to the enhancement of health and wellness in society.

Online M.B.A. and M.S. in Nursing: Nursing Leadership in Health Care Systems (Bridge)

The online Bridge to Master of Science in Nursing program is designed for registered nurses with a bachelor's degree in health sciences or other related fields. The program is intended to meet the needs of adult learners who already posses a bachelor's degree and an RN license who desire to pursue a graduate degree in nursing.

Courses in the bridge program are a blending of RN to BSN core courses that are considered essential requisites to graduate study. Upon completion of bridge courses from the BSN core, students enter one of five emphases offered for the Master of Science in Nursing or the Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Nursing: Nursing Leadership in Health Care Systems (Dual-Degree).

Candidates must provide evidence of a current, unencumbered license in the state of residence upon admission to the program and for the duration of their study. In addition to the general Graduate Admission Requirements listed in the Admission Policy and Procedure section, all MSN bridge program candidates must provide evidence of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited program reflecting a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale).

Online Education At Grand Canyon University

Students enrolling in any Online program of study at Grand Canyon University are assigned to a virtual instructor and a virtual community of fellow learners where they can discuss educational issues and participate in peer reviewed class projects. Through the use of advanced and emerging technologies, the same high educational standards that exist in traditional programs have been adapted to all of GCU's online programs. Classes are taught by proven educational professionals that have excelled in research and teaching. Students find that they are able to immediately use newly learned skills to improve student performance and develop projects that are important to their learning community.

All of Grand Canyon University's online courses are uniquely tailored to meet your needs. Our professors work hard to create an optimal online learning environment. That means you get feedback and have the opportunity to ask questions of your professor as well as to other students who are in your course of study. New classes start every two months.

Accreditation

Grand Canyon University is regionally accredited by the North Central Association (30 North LaSalle St. Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504; 800-621-7440). Ken Blanchard College of Business, is nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs to offer: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing; Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (One Dupont Circle NW, Suite 530, Washington, D.C. 20036; 202-887-6791) and the Arizona State Board of Nursing accredit the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program. The Arizona State Department of Education has given formal approval of the work done at the University for the certification of elementary and secondary teachers and for the renewal of certificates.
