Practical Nursing (LPN) Diploma Program

Practical nurses help physicians and registered nurses care for patients in hospitals, medical offices, long term care facilities and a variety of other health care settings. Working under the direction of Registered Nurses, they participate in care planning, monitor patient's vital signs, draw blood, chart, supervise patient care technicians and CNA's, administer medications, give injections, and perform a variety of skilled nursing procedures.

Paramedic Diploma Program

Paramedics primarily work in the pre-hospital setting and are the "eyes, ears and hands" of the emergency room physician. In addition to providing primary care to emergency patients in an out-of-hospital setting, Tri-State's Paramedic program will train the student for their emerging roles and responsibilities, including public education, health promotion, and participation in injury and illness prevention programs. Medical Assisting / Medical Assisting Specialist Program

Tri-State Institute offers a medical assisting program designed to provide you with knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment as a medical assistant in a medical office or clinic, with skills in office administration, computer, and clinical areas. The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioner's specialty. According to the US Dept. of Labor, employment for medical assistants is projected to grow much faster than average, ranking medical assistants among the fastest growing occupations over the 2008–18 decade. General Admissions Information

To qualify for admissions, applicants must be a high school graduate or its equivalent. Interested students should contact Tri-State Institute to schedule an interview with staff, tour the facility, and learn when the next available classes begin. All applicants are required to complete a personal information sheet and Wonderlic assessment. Request to speak with an adviser!
